Executive Director | Connie Roe

Connie leads the organization in service to families and children within our community. She works with the Board of Directors to set policy and determine programs and services offered. Connie has a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Toledo. Connie has spent her career in non-profit management, including working with The National Exchange Club and The Toledo Symphony. As the proud Mom of four children and has four grandchildren, her passion has always been to advocate for families and children. She enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with her family. Her greatest blessing in life is caring for Jessicka and Tatumn.

Summer Lunch Program Coordinator
| Ashley Walterbusch

Ashley leads and oversees programs that support children and families across Ottawa County, with a focus on food access, caregiver support, and community-based services. She works closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to develop and expand programming that meets the needs of local families. Ashley has several years of experience in nonprofit program leadership, with a strong focus on food insecurity and family advocacy. Ashley also serves on local boards and advisory groups and participates in regional collaborations focused on supporting families. As a proud mom of two, Ashley is passionate about supporting families both professionally and personally. She enjoys spending time with her family, staying involved in her children’s activities, and being active in the community she serves.

GrandLove & Soar by 24 Coordinator | Judy Peters

Judy serves as Program Coordinator for GRANDlove and SOAR by 24, bringing over 30 years of experience in education. She holds degrees from The Ohio State University and the University of Toledo in leadership and curriculum. Judy retired from Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools in Oak Harbor, where she worked as a teacher, principal, and Director of Student Services. She remains passionate about supporting youth and families in her community. Judy and her husband, Lowell, have two sons, Bryan and Kevin, and are proud grandparents of five.

TNT Coordinator & Soar by 24 Case Manager & GrandLove Advocate | Melissa Antry

Melissa is a dedicated advocate for youth and families in Ottawa County. She serves as Program Supervisor for the TNT Program and supports her community through her roles with GRANDlove and SOAR. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Northern University and has spent the past ten years working at the Family Advocacy Center. After beginning her career in education and raising four children, Melissa brings a compassionate, family-centered approach to her work. She is a devoted wife of 25 years, an active supporter of her children’s activities, and is known for her passion for helping others overcome challenges and succeed.

Director of Finance | Aaron Taylor

Aaron takes care of the financial activities of the organization, including writing, and depositing checks, budgeting, and helping the organization find cost savings. Aaron has a bachelor’s degree in both Business Administration and Economics from Heidelberg University. Aaron is a former High School Boys Tennis Coach and continues to support the tennis community by being a local tournament and league director. Aaron is a proud husband of 21 years to his wife Rachel and is a doting father to three daughters, Alexa, Adrianna, and Alivia.

Executive Assistant & GrandLove Advocate

| Angela Petersen

Angela is the first person you will see in the office, as she greets our clients and guests, while she drafts correspondence and organizes all the data. However, her favorite part of the job is working as an advocate for our GRANDlove families. Angela worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in Toledo for 35 years, coached the JV Lady Rockets’ soccer team and served as a councilwoman for the Village of Oak Harbor. Her and her husband are currently therapeutic foster parents for the county. She finds much JOY spending time with her husband, five children, five grandchildren and foster children.

Marketing Coordinator | Ryleigh Trumbull

Ryleigh manages social media platforms, develops marketing strategies, and helps share the organization’s mission and impact with the broader community. Ryleigh is currently attending THE Ohio State University where she is majoring in Marketing with a minor in Nonprofit Management. Ryleigh previously worked at Riverview Healthcare Campus for over two years and joined our agency in November 2025. Passionate about making a difference, Ryleigh began fundraising for ALS during high school and has continued those efforts in college through her involvement with the National Organization for Rare Diseases. She is dedicated to using her skills to support meaningful causes and create positive change in her community.

Mentor Coordinator - Port Clinton | Curt Fleming

Curt serves as our Mentor Coordinator for Port Clinton City School District. Curt spent thirty years in Law Enforcement, with a significant portion of that time working with youth as a School Resource and D.A.R.E. Officer. With that background, he realizes how important it is for children to have caring, positive adults in their lives.

Mentor Coordinator - Danbury | Sheryl Schmidt

Sheryl is our Danbury Mentor Coordinator, assisting with the recruitment of mentors and pairing them with students at Danbury Local Schools. Sheryl also helps with the Summer Food Program. Sheryl has a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University and spent most of her career in Home Health Care Management. She joined OCFAC after volunteering with the GRANDlove Program and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the youth in Ottawa County. Outside of work, you will find Sheryl enjoying the lake with family and friends, cheering on the Buckeyes, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Mentor Coordinator - Genoa | Rachel Nissley

Rachel serves as our Mentor Coordinator for Genoa Area Schools. She plays a meaningful role in guiding and empowering others, helping individuals grow through mentorship and connection. Known for her caring spirit and strong sense of purpose, she balances family, service, and leadership with heart and dedication. She is a dedicated mother of four and proud grandmother of two who bring out compassion and commitment to every aspect of her life. Deeply rooted in her community, she actively volunteers her time and energy to support and uplift those around her.

GrandLove Advocate | Irma Torres

Irma joined the Center in January of 2025 after retiring as the Public Administrator for Job and Family Services. She has experience working with families and senior citizens by providing various assistance. Irma works with our GRANDlove families and seniors and connects them to resources including housing, utilities, food, Medicare, and Medicaid. When not working, Irma enjoys exercising, assisting at Immaculate Conception with lecturing, distribution of the Eucharist, and hospitality. She is also the President of St. Vincent de Paul in Port Clinton. She enjoys spending time with her two children, two granddaughters and two grand dogs in Indiana and Cleveland.

GrandLove Advocate | Julie Aldridge

Julie transitioned into her position as an Advocate in the beginning of 2022 after her over 18-year career in Behavioral Health. Julie’s advocacy skills come from her positions as a life coach, vocational rehabilitation specialist, and case manager. She feels called to help people grow and be their best. Julie loves spending time with
her husband and their adult son. Julie and her husband share a passion for gardening/homesteading. She loves being able to share their garden’s abundance with the community at the local farmers market and sharing her homesteading skills at community classes held at our Central Station office in Oak Harbor.

Chris Beuter

Board President

Chris has been our board president since 2024. His past experience includes HR and Labor Leadership.  His experience in strategic planning is helping do drive OCFAC forward. Chris's main passion is to ensure that all persons in our community are "seen" and treated with dignity.

Catherine Hubbs
Board Treasurer

Catherine has a varied past including Critical Care Nurse and President/Owner of a Woman Business Enterprise. In both positions, Catherine has acquired the following skills: leadership, case management, quality assurance, process improvement and creative problem solving. She has been on the board since 2019.

Sami Nash
Board Member

Sami received her Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law after graduating magna cum laude from The Ohio State University in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and a minor in business.  Her passion for the law can be found in an article she penned called: Misguided Justice: Why Ohio Should Abolish Their Felony Murder Statute.

Kathy is a dedicated member of our board, bringing her expertise as an LPN for schools, hospitals and extended care facilities Kathy has helped to help drive our mission forward. With a passion for our youth and seniors Kathy plays a key role in our impact on the community.

Board Secretary

Mary is a devout member, who has been serving on the board for almost a decade. As a member of the board, and specifically the OCFAC Finance Committee,

she leverages her experience in finance, as well as operations, to provide assistance and guidance when needed.

Jan Gluth

Board Member

Jan M. Gluth is Director of Student, Staff and Community Development at PCSD. She has been in that position since 2001. The fact that Jan can communicate effectively with children, teens and adults is what makes her a special asset to the OCFAC board. And we like her ability to problem-solve as well!

Amy Pugh

Board Member

Amy brings her law enforcement experience and a big heart for helping others to our board. As a K9 Officer with the Port Clinton Police Department, she’s dedicated to keeping her community safe while also working with us to move our mission forward.

Kim Schreiner

Board Member

Kim has been the CNO at Magruder Hospital. Kim finds that family and friend support is critical to the health and wellbeing of every patient and therefore it was a "no brainer" to become involved with OCFAC. 

 

She sees the OCFAC as a lifeline to this community and wanted to support the team.
